I, TwoEightNine, respect your privacy. This policy explains how Podpolye (the “App”) handles information in its Android version.
When you create an account or sign in, you provide your email address and password. I send this information to the Podpolye authentication service to create or authenticate your account. The App uses your password only to complete the sign-in or sign-up request and does not save it on your device as an account credential.
After sign-in, the App receives an access token to keep you signed in. On Android, this token is stored locally in encrypted form with an Android Keystore-backed key.
To provide music features, I process account-linked music activity, including liked songs, playlists, music-library content, search requests, and listening history. Listening-history events can include the song identifier and, when applicable, the album, artist, or playlist from which a song was played.
The App stores information locally to provide playback and offline features. This can include encrypted session-token data, cached music metadata and artwork, media files or segments that you choose to cache for offline playback, pending listening-history events that cannot yet be sent to the service, and playback preferences such as shuffle and repeat settings.
Cached media can use substantial device storage, up to approximately 1 GB under the current Android cache configuration. You can remove cached music using the App’s cache controls. You can also clear the App’s cache or data through Android system settings.
The App uses internet and network-state permissions to communicate with the music service. It uses a foreground media-playback service so music can continue playing when the App is not in the foreground.
The App does not request permission to access your precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or photos and files. The current Android implementation does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
The App sends account and music-service information to the Podpolye service at twoeightnine.xyz to authenticate you and provide the App’s features. Media, artwork, and related content may also be requested from content locations provided by that service.
I do not sell your personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. I may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the App, or others.
I retain information for as long as needed to operate the App and meet legal, security, and operational requirements. Local cached information remains on your device until you remove it, Android clears it, or you uninstall the App. Server-side retention depends on the Podpolye service’s operational and legal requirements.
I use reasonable technical measures designed to protect information. In particular, the Android App encrypts its stored access token with a key held in the Android Keystore. No system is completely secure, so please protect your device and account credentials.
You may choose whether to create an account or sign in, manage likes, playlists, and cached music in the App, and clear the App’s cache or data through Android settings.
Where applicable law provides these rights, you may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, including your account or server-side personal data. I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
The App is not directed to children under the minimum age required to use the service in their jurisdiction. Do not use the App or provide personal information if you do not meet that minimum age. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this policy, please contact me.
Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, I will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. I will post an updated version with a revised “Last updated” date. I may also communicate material changes through the App or another appropriate channel.
